Historical Vehicles

Customers who want to declare their vehicle Historical will first need to come across the following historical vehicle criteria:

FI Category

F (I) historic motor vehicle ways any motor vehicle whose manufacturer'due south model year is at least 25 years old or whatever motor vehicle which is at least 15 years old and is a make of motor vehicle no longer manufactured; not exceeding a total mileage  of i,000 miles annually.

Historical vehicles with the F(II) designation volition receive a non-expiring inspection sticker. This vehicle will non be required to visit the inspection every 2 years.

Requirements for Historic Motor Vehicles

No historic motor vehicle shall be required to comply with any equipment, material, or design standard which information technology was not legally required to achieve when information technology was manufactured.

Documents required for registration of historic vehicle

  1. Completed certificate of Championship/Tag application, indicating Historic Tags
  2. Title vehicle only if the titling the vehicle in DC for the first time
  3. DC Driver License or DC Not Commuter ID
  4. DC Vehicle insurance coverage
  5. DC Vehicle inspection report, stamped either FI or FII
